Residence permit for foreigners

• Foreigners are subject to receive residence permit in order to stay in the country more than 90 days. Application will be made directly to Emniyet Müdürlüğü Foreign Citizenship Department.
• Family members of the foreign worker receive the residence permit with the same duration also once the work permit granted.
• It takes usually one week to get the residence permit.

Working permit for foreigners

• The law numbered 4817 regulates the working conditions of foreigners in Turkey. All working permit applications are evaluated by the Ministry of Labour.
• Citizens of the Republic of North Cyprus, citizens with no country status, foreigners with Turkish mother or father or having Turkish child, foreigners stayed married at least 3 years with a Turkish spouse are not subject to the conditions of working permit.

Types of working permits:

• Limited working permit. Given for one year for business purposes. It may be expanded to 3 years.
• Limitless working permit. Given to foreigners who have been working for 6 years legally without interruption.
• Independent working permit. Given to foreigners who have lived for 5 years legally without interruption.

Immovable Purchase of Foreigners in Turkey

• The law numbered 6302 which has been revised and enacted in 2012 made tremendous change on the conditions of having a property for foreigners. The law simplified the procedure of having an immovable for foreigners.
• Citizens of 183 countries are allowed to buy immovables without requiring any reciprocity. The aim of the law is to encourage foreign investors to buy immovables in Turkey.
• Foreigners are allowed to purchase maximum 30 hectares of land with this law. The council of ministers may double the purchasing land with a special permit and enables the foreign investors to obtain an immovable up to 60 hectares.
